Mount Carmel Cemetery began in the hearts and minds of Beth Shalom’s earliest congregants, the same people who, in the late 1800s, were also among the earliest settlers of the Kansas City Jewish community.

The hopes and dreams of those early congregants live on through continued efforts to expand, improve and re-define the role of Mount Carmel in accordance with the ever-growing, and ever-changing face of Congregation Beth Shalom and its community. Mount Carmel Cemetery is a tribute to the Jewish community in a quiet setting which encourages peace, solace and meditation.
